Ines is a Senior Research Officer on the Healing Kids, Healing Families team. In this role, Ines works primarily on a project examining the impact of perinatal dissociation (PD) and birth trauma on both mothers’ and infants’ wellbeing in the first two years of life. This project aims to address resource gaps through co-creating the first PD-specific screening tool and co-designing educational resources to assist mothers and clinicians in identifying and healing PD and improving children’s development, and policy implementation around screening mothers.
Ines was previously an Honorary Team Member of the team, contributing to the Dissociation Project. This research focused on improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people who experience trauma-related dissociation.
Ines completed her Bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, followed by a Master of Clinical Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Western Australia. Her doctoral research explored the role of trait anxiety and attentional bias to negative information in predicting intrusion vulnerability following an acute negative event.
In addition to her academic work, Ines is a practicing Clinical Psychologist, supporting individuals and couples with a range of psychological concerns. Her research interests span trauma and emotional and relational health.
